Goa trance (or just goa) is a form of electronic dance music (edm) that developed during the late 1980s in goa, india. The genre peaked in commercial success during the mid 1990s and was characterised as being psychedelic trance music. After this time many of the genres artists went on to form what would become the psytrance genre whilst others went down a more commercial route with trance music.
